Our wheeled Android EVE, is engineered to work with you, from guarding to logistics, and our bipedal model, NEO, is designed to become a household android with broad deployment in various applications. Our products will understand both natural language and physical space, so they can complete useful tasks in any environment.

Within one month, you will…
Get up to speed with the design of our humanoid robot NEO
Familiarize yourself with internal processes and development methodologies
Within three months, you will…
Establish methodologies for selecting the right material for each application
Involve yourself, together with our Supply Chain team, with suppliers to source parts that meet the material specifications set by the R&D Engineering team and you
Work with the testing team to build a material dataset for the materials with which NEO is built
Within one year, you will…
Lead the research of high-end materials to enable meeeting the lightweight, reliability and cost requirements of the product
Own Design for Manufacturing activities across the company
- Develop 1X's material capabilitites end-to-end (from research to testing and production)
- Research and specify metal alloys for low and high volume production
- Define Design for Manufacturing guidelines for die casting, forging, etc. with the R&D Engineering team
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure engineering specifications are met
Must-Haves
- Strong knowledge in metal alloys
- Strong knowledge in mechanical behavior of materials and manufacturing
- Experience with high strength composites and plastics
- Experience with corrossion protection and electrical continuity in structures
- Knowledge in serial-manufacturing friendly materials and manufacturing methods
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience with CAD
- Experience with structural FEA
- Experience in designing robots, understanding of kinematics and dynamics of robotics systems
- Understanding of highly dynamic environments where balancing competing priorities and timelines is needed

Our new headquarter in Moss, Norway, is a short train ride from Oslo. The facility is designed to be state-of-the-art, with a variety of 3D printers, an electronics lab, and controls test studio. 1XHQ offers food, showers, and outdoor activities.
