As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Materials Engineer.

Within one month, you will…

  • Get up to speed with the design of our humanoid robot NEO

  • Familiarize yourself with internal processes and development methodologies

Within three months, you will…

  • Establish methodologies for selecting the right material for each application

  • Involve yourself, together with our Supply Chain team, with suppliers to source parts that meet the material specifications set by the R&D Engineering team and you

  • Work with the testing team to build a material dataset for the materials with which NEO is built

Within one year, you will…

  • Lead the research of high-end materials to enable meeeting the lightweight, reliability and cost requirements of the product

  • Own Design for Manufacturing activities across the company

Responsibilities

  • Develop 1X's material capabilitites end-to-end (from research to testing and production)
  • Research and specify metal alloys for low and high volume production
  • Define Design for Manufacturing guidelines for die casting, forging, etc. with the R&D Engineering team
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure engineering specifications are met
