As a Business Controller, you will play a pivotal role in our journey towards transforming the world through innovation. You will work close with the company’s Finance and Operations team and will report to the company’s VP of Accounting located in Norway.
1X mission is to create an abundant supply of physical labor through safe, intelligent androids that work alongside humans. Since 2014, we’ve designed our products with large-scale manufacturing in mind, so we can produce androids at a high enough volume to meet the world’s labor demand. Our wheeled Android EVE, is engineered to work with you, from guarding to logistics, and our bipedal model, NEO, is designed to become a household android with broad deployment in various applications. Our products will understand both natural language and physical space, so they can complete useful tasks in any environment.
We’ve established our dual HQ in San Francisco and Norway. Our positions require in-person presence to ensure effective execution and seamless collaboration in our hardware-focused environment. We value passion for our work and encourage candidates who share our dedication to join our team.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities
- Lead the US company’s financial operations, including accounting processes, payroll management, and financial reporting.
- Administer and innovate our employee benefits program, ensuring comprehensive coverage and legal compliance.
- Drive cash flow management and forecasting, identifying trends and setting accurate projections.
- Champion continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and establish best practices.
Must-Haves
- Background in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Business Controller or similar role, ideally in a technology-driven organization
- Strong knowledge of financial and administration management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the strategic goals of the company
- Good understanding of IT applications in general and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong ability to work independently and be self-driven, as well as work as part of a team
- You are detail-oriented and organized.

Just 8 minutes from the DFW Airport. 1X Dallas is a hub focusing on Customer Success for EVE, Android Maintenance and Repair, and Motor Manufacturing for Android NEO.
