Electrical Repair/Rework Technician
Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.
We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Repair/Rework Technician to join our manufacturing and repair team. You will focus on repairing, modifying, and reworking precision electrical assemblies used in our next-generation humanoid robots. The work will involve advanced soldering, cable preparation, and removing/replacing electrical and electronic components to aerospace- and defense-grade quality standards.
This role is ideal for technicians from robotics, EV, aerospace, or defense electronics environments who thrive in precision work and want to be part of cutting-edge robotics development.
What You’ll Do
Perform advanced soldering, de-soldering, and rework on both through-hole and fine-pitch surface-mount components (SMT).
Remove and replace electronic components on PCBs following IPC-7711/7721 and IPC-A-610 Class 2 & 3 workmanship standards.
Prepare and terminate high-reliability cable harnesses, shielded cables, and multi-pin connectors.
Inspect assemblies for damage, misalignment, or nonconformance using magnification and precision measurement tools.
Work from schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering change orders (ECOs), and rework instructions.
Use hot air rework tools, soldering stations, crimpers, wire strippers, and other specialized equipment.
Maintain ESD-safe practices in all handling, repair, and storage activities.
Collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot failures and execute corrective actions.
Document all repair and rework activities for traceability and quality control.
Support rapid turnaround on rework to keep prototype and production schedules on track.
