Wiring Harness Design Engineer

We are at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. As we transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing, we seek an experienced Wiring Harness Design Engineer. We are looking for a Wiring Harness Design Engineer to help design the harness system for our biped robot NEO. You will work closely with the the mechanical/electrical engineers and the production team to make sure the wiring harnesses are implemented are up to spec. An ideal candidate has developed lightweight wiring harnesses from concept to production before.

  • Collaborate with the production team in bringing the wiring harnesses to production.

  • Lead a small team of wiring harness design engineers.
  • Implement wiring and connectors best practices across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing wiring harnesses along our biped robot NEO, ensuring they meet electrical performance, EMC, and quality requirements
  • Creating virtual harness models and corresponding 2D/3D drawings for specifications
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality harnesses manufactured according to design
  • Work hands-on with assembly technicians to build harnesses for the first prototype runs
REQUIREMENTS

Must-Haves:

  • A few years of experience designing and building wiring harnesses for lightweight applications
  • Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, Catia, Siemens NX, etc.
  • Eager to work hands-on in the lab and with the production team
  • Eager to collaborate with other teams under a very dynamic environment

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous work in robotics or automation, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges in the field
  • Experience designing wiring harnesses for systems with several degrees of freedom
