CAD/BOM Manager

Target start date: Immediately. Relocation provided.

We are at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD/BOM Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems, ensuring accurate documentation, part management, and data integrity from prototype to mass production. Collaborating closely with other hardware- and software- teams, you will play a vital role in everything from design to mass manufacturing. We are looking for individuals with hands-on experience, and a proactive "get-things-done" attitude, who excel in both long-term strategic planning and day-to-day execution of practical tasks.

Within one month, you will…

  • Become familiar with our current BOM and CAD processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish best practices for managing BOMs across the entire product lifecycle, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with the design team to improve our PDM system across the product development workflow.

Within three months, you will…

  • Lead the implementation of a structured BOM management process, aligning engineering design changes with the appropriate documentation updates.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure CAD models are efficiently translated into production-ready formats.
  • Establish clear communication channels between product design, procurement, and manufacturing for accurate part management and version control.

Within one year, you will…

  • Lead the preparation of BOMs for full-scale manufacturing and ensure documentation accuracy as the design evolves.
  • Develop and implement systems for managing engineering change orders (ECOs) and their impact on BOMs and CAD models.
Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the BOM management process, ensuring all parts, components, and materials are accurately documented throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Oversee the CAD system, ensuring that designs are documented, version-controlled, and optimized for manufacturing.
  • Manage and maintain BOM integrity in collaboration with design, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure all CAD files and BOM data are up-to-date, and changes are reflected in the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and support change control processes for product revisions, including engineering change orders (ECOs) and version updates.
  • Ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production, supporting the scaling of production through robust documentation and part management.
REQUIREMENTS

Must-Haves: 

  • Expertise in managing CAD systems and ensuring accurate design documentation throughout product development
  • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management in complex manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading design change processes and managing engineering change orders (ECOs)

Nice-To-Haves: 

  • Familiarity with supplier management and working with external vendors to ensure alignment with design specifications and part requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing process optimization and working closely with production teams to ensure smooth product transition from design to manufacturing
