The Global Sourcing Manager is an individual contributor role focused on identifying, negotiating, and managing relationships with global suppliers for key components and materials. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure that sourced components meet stringent quality, cost, and scalability requirements. You will play a critical role in building a resilient and cost-effective supply chain to support our growth.
Each Global Supply Manager will specialize in a specific commodity area such as electronics, mechanical components, raw materials, batteries, sensors, or hardware. The ideal candidates will possess deep technical knowledge of their commodity, exceptional negotiation skills, and experience managing a global supplier network.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies to procure key materials and components, including electronics, mechanical assemblies, and other critical parts, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and engineering requirements.
· Identify, evaluate, and onboard global suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
· Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and long-term partnerships.
· Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure that sourced components meet technical specifications, design requirements, and quality standards.
· Support the Head of Supply Chain in driving cost optimization initiatives while maintaining reliability and quality across the supply chain.
· Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and pricing dynamics.
· Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics, ensuring consistent delivery, quality, and adherence to contractual terms.
· Implement risk mitigation strategies, including identifying alternative sources and managing supplier diversification.
· Provide technical support for design-for-manufacturing (DFM) efforts, working closely with engineering teams to optimize product designs for sourcing feasibility and cost efficiency.
· Manage supplier audits and evaluations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
· Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, operations, and quality teams, to ensure smooth integration of sourced components into production.
